When going on long hikes, it is important to bring a well-stocked first aid kit along so that you are prepared for any eventualities. It should contain the following items:
1. An assorted set of bandages that you can use for blisters and small cuts;
2. A set of antiseptic wipes that you can use to clean and disinfect cuts before bandaging;
3. A set of tweezers, which you can use to extract splinters and clear debris from wounds;
4. A whistle with which you can alert anybody in the vicinity if you are in distress;
5. Moleskin or duct tape, both of which you can use to prevent blisters;
6. A small card with emergency contact details and any medical information that is relevant to you.
