Dr. Robert Hindes, an infectious diseases specialist with years of research experience, most recently held a transitional position as Vice President of Clinical Research with Gilead Sciences in Foster City, California, following Gilead's purchase of Pharmasset, Inc. Although he received an offer for full-time placement, Dr. Hindes declined due to the relocation necessary for the position.
Dr. Hindes previously held a role as Vice President of Clinical Development with Pharmasset, Inc. in Princeton, New Jersey, between 2011 and 2012. For 10 years between 2001 and 2011, he held several research positions with Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical Research Institute in Wallingford, Connecticut, ending with the title of Virology Global Clinical Research Group Director. Prior to joining Bristol-Myers Squibb in 2001, Dr. Robert Hindes served for more than 10 years as Assistant Clinical Professor at New York Medical College in Valhalla, and was a member of the teaching faculty at Yale University in New Haven, CT During this period, he was a full time member of the Danbury Hospital Infectious Disease Group, located in Danbury CT.
Dr. Robert Hindes has completed a Fellowship in Infectious Disease at Harvard Medical School and the New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He previously fulfilled internship and residency requirements at the Medical College of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Hindes earned his medical degree at Rutgers Medical School in Piscataway, New Jersey.
In addition to his pharmaceutical and teaching work, Dr. Robert Hindes has contributed as an author to more than 80 research articles and abstracts. He presently maintains professional membership in the American College of Physicians, as well as Diplomate status with the American Board of Internal Medicine. During his unoccupied time, Dr. Hindes enjoys skiing and hiking. He additionally pursues an interest in music and the arts.
